WHERE IS THE URGENCY ON ENERGY BILLS?

Yesterday, the Minister for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy delivered a statement on behalf of the UK Government with nothing new to say.

There was no new measures announced on the energy cap, which is set to double, there was no new information on support for households or struggling businesses, there was no support announced for those living in park homes, neither did the Minister have anything to say about punishing standing charges on energy bills.

This was a statement which failed to recognise the gravity of the situation which is felt across the UK. It was a statement designed to give the illusion of activity but it is clear that this is a zombie government with no sense of urgency.
