VISITING BERRY BPI ARDEER

It was lovely to meet with the management team who made me so welcome on my recent visit to BPI Ardeer and learn more about this packaging business on the shop floor.

A significant employer in Stevenston, it employs 240 on the Ardeer site as part of an international operation of 291 sites globally.

This site was established in 1984 Berry’s Impact 2025 sustainability strategy seeks to develop solutions that minimise its products' environmental impact and work towards 100% reusable, recyclable or composting packaging by 2025.

At Greenock and Ardeer, the combined recycling facility can reprocess 6,500 tonnes of waste material and generate 6,500 tonnes of recycled pellets.

This is an innovative business which has a real focus on sustainability, which is at the heart of its operation. including more efficient use of energy, water and increasing reliance on renewable energy as well

It was fascinating to learn more about the work of this major employer in Stevenston.
