URGENT ACTION NEEDED TO RELIEVE HOUSEHOLD DEBT BURDEN AS COST OF LIVING CRISIS BITES
I called on the UK Government to urgently take action to tackle the growing household debt crisis in the UK, with recent Which? research revealing an estimated 2.5 million households missed or defaulted on at least one mortgage, rent, loan or credit card payment this month.
This is a huge increase on last year and yet another sign that the Tory cost of living crisis is forcing households into deep financial distress, creating a debt timebomb.
We urgently need measures from the UK Government to tackle this spiralling debt and support households.
