URGENT ACTION NEEDED ON IN-WORK POVERTY

In-work poverty is at an all-time high as the cost-of-living crisis escalates. Two thirds of working age adults and 75 per cent of children in poverty live in households where at least one adult is working. Universal Credit and other in-work benefits are simply not enough to lift people out of poverty, and this has been exacerbated by the unjust £20 a week cut to Universal Credit and Working Tax Credits.

The scandal of in-work poverty cannot be simply tolerated. The current cost-of-living crisis demands direct and urgent government intervention. See my contribution below 👇.
