UNIVERSAL CREDIT CUT SET TO DEEPEN POVERTY

The U.K. Government is set to slash Universal Credit by £1040 per year - £20 per week - at the end of September.

This callous cut will affect 10,406 people in my constituency of North Ayrshire & Arran, pushing them deeper into debt and hardship.

We in Scottish National Party (SNP) are calling for the Universal Credit uplift to be permanent and for it to be extended to those on legacy benefits who have had no uplift at all during these difficult times. We reject the Universal Credit Crunch and believe building back better must include everyone.
