UK GOVERNMENT “RIDING ROUGHSHOD” OVER SCOTLAND’S PARLIAMENT

I again challenged the Tory UK Government on its deeply divisive and undemocratic Internal Market Act, which fundamentally undermines the devolution settlement by giving the UK Government power to act in devolved areas without the consent of devolved administrations.

This bill was explicitly rejected both in Holyrood and the Senedd, yet now the UK Government have the temerity to claim they are strengthening devolution! The powers of Scotland’s Parliament are under threat. No wonder more and more people in Scotland support Independence!
