UK GOVERNMENT FAILS TO COMMIT TO BAN ON FUR AND FOIE GRAS IMPORTS
I challenged the UK Government’s record on animal rights and urged a ban on imports of animal fur and foie gras into the UK.
Whilst the production of animal fur and foie gras in the UK is banned, unless imports of these products are banned, the UK is simply outsourcing cruel animal welfare practices which is hypocritical and unacceptable.
The Leader of the House refused to commit to a ban which is deeply disappointing but I will continue to press this matter on behalf of the huge number of constituents who have contacted me about this issue.
