TORY COST OF LIVING CRISIS MEANS WINTER OF DISCONTENT

The UK is experiencing a growing cost of living crisis created by dangerous, cruel and incompetent Tory UK Government that seems intent on making lives harder for the most vulnerable in our society.

Universal Credit is set to be cut by £20 per week, negatively impacting 10,406 of my North Ayrshire & Arran constituents and 400,000 people in Scotland, while the National Insurance hike and the energy price surge will hit those on low incomes hardest. Inflation is rising while the decision to end Free Movement is causing huge shortages in key industries, leaving supermarket shelves empty and pushing up prices in shops.

There is no doubt we are facing a cost of living crisis which will plunge us headlong into a Winter of Discontent.
