TORY CIVIL WAR OVER RULE BREAKING CAUSES FURY AND SEVERELY UNDERMINES PUBLIC HEALTH MESSAGING

I challenged the Secretary of State for Health, Sajid Javid, to condemn comments made by Jacob Rees-Mogg, who attacked the Tory Leader in Scotland, Douglas Ross, after he called on the Prime Minister to resign for breaking Covid19 rules at the Downing Street party in May 2020.

All Tory MSPs in Scotland have now joined the SNP and Labour in calling on Boris Johnson to resign for the flagrant breaches of public health laws in Downing Street, whilst so many across the UK were isolated from loved ones, even as they died. The sense of anger and betrayal from the public is palpable.

However, senior Tory MPs have instead decided to attack those who criticise Covid lockdown violations.

The contempt for the Prime Minister has shown for his own Covid rules will undoubtedly undermine continued public compliance with public health restrictions as we continue to battle this pandemic. 👇
