TORIES RIDING ROUGHSHOD OVER DEVOLUTION

I once again challenged the Tories’ anti-democratic UK Internal Market Act, which allows the UK Government to override devolved Governments in a number of devolved policy areas.

This post-Brexit power grab by a Government that Scotland did not elect is a fundamental assault on the principles of devolution and the express democratic wishes of the Scottish people.

I challenged the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, Michael Gove, on his claims that he was improving inter-governmental relations, and the Speaker eventually had to cut off the Secretary of State from his rambling response.
