THREE TOWNS MEN’S SHED

I was glad to have the opportunity to congratulate the Three Towns Men's Shed, based in Ardrossan, on securing funding from the CalMac Ferries Community Fund.

The group provides recreational facilities and advances the social needs, health and wellbeing of men of all ages and backgrounds.

This award will allow the men to purchase a 3D printer, which in turn will help provide members with the opportunity to learn new, practical 3D printing skills. Accessing and using this technology will allow the Shed to produce and cut custom components and items for disabled residents.

Jim Ingils and the members of the Three Town’s & District Men’s Shed, are hoping that new members will join the group who, along with existing members, will train to use the machines to improve their mental health and well being, as well as providing a social atmosphere to combat loneliness and isolation.

The men also hope to produce items that will be beneficial to other groups in the local community.

They made me very welcome and I enjoyed chatting to the group and congratulating them on securing these important funds.
