THE RIGHT REVEREND FRANCIS DOUGAN'S ORDINATION AS BISHOP OF GALLOWAY

I attended a beautiful service in Ardrossan St Peter In Chains Church for the Ordination of The Right Reverend Francis Dougan as Bishop of Galloway for Galloway Diocese.

The role of the Bishop of Galloway means that Bishop Dougan is now the Ecclesiastical Head of the Roman Catholic Galloway Diocese, extending from Dumfries & Galloway, South Ayrshire, East Ayrshire and North Ayrshire.

The Ordination was performed by The Most Reverend Leo Cushley, Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh.

After the service celebrants, parishioners and guests gathered in St Matthew's Academy in Saltcoats for lunch.

I am sure the new Bishop will be a huge asset to the Diocese and he is warmly welcomed to his new role by all.
