STRIKES AT DEFENCE EQUIPMENT & SUPPORT (DE&S) BEITH

I stand in solidarity with the workers striking at DE&S Beith and have tabled an Early Day Motion in the House of Commons in support of their cause.

These workers are striking for fairness and equality. These principles should not be something which workers need strike in 2023, it should be theirs by right.

This strike may also potentially impact the supply of munitions to Ukraine. It is vital that the Ministry of Defence urgently intervenes to resolve this dispute.

We need powers over employment law in Scotland which will allow Scotland to become a beacon for workers’ rights across the UK.
