STEVENSTON BEACH HUB

Today I met with Margaret and Elizabeth Sweeney of Raise your Voice with Ardeer and visited the new Stevenston, Ayrshire Beach Hub.

The Hub is preparing to open its doors in the very near future.

After years of hard work by Margaret and Elizabeth to drive this project forward, the new hub - situated to the east of Beach Park, Shore Road - promises to be a real community hub Doon The Beach.

Despite setbacks such as lockdown , with funding of around £130,000 from The Scottish Government and support from North Ayrshire Council's Community Investment Fund, this facility is set to benefit the wider community and seek to be inclusive and welcoming to all.

With an eco-friendly vision, it will be sensitive to the beach's local nature reserve status, as well as being allergen-free.

Looking forward to visiting again soon when it is fully up and running.
