SERIOUS CONCERNS AROUND FUNDING AS TORY MPS ALLEGE BLACKMAIL

With a number of Tory MPs alleging they have been threatened with the withdrawal of funding from their constituencies, as well as the release of negative press stories, for supporting a no confidence vote in Boris Johnson, I challenged the UK Government to come clean on the possible misuse of public funds.

This is a Tory Government that has a track record of such behaviour, with even the Tory-dominated Public Accounts Committee stating previous public funding, the Towns Fund, had “every appearance of having been politically motivated”.

These serious accusations need to be properly investigated, so called on Michael Gove, Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, to outline what he will do to investigate alleged and potential abuses of public funds.
