SCOTLAND MUST NOT BE DENIED OPPORTUNITY TO CHOOSE ITS OWN FUTURE

September’s so-called ‘mini-budget’, which included £45 billion of unfunded tax cuts which would almost exclusively have benefited the better off, has had a devastating impact on the economy, destabilising the markets. As a consequence, people across the UK are now suffering real financial harm and hardship as a direct result of the UK Government’s incompetence.

Tomorrow’s budget is set to raise taxes to balance the cost of that incompetence on the backs of those who are already struggling because of it. This, at a time when inflation is soaring and the price of energy is skyrocketing. In addition, Brexit is damaging business and our wider economy.

The UK is in a mess. Scotland did not vote for Brexit or this Tory Government. Despite what the Tories and Labour say, Scotland has voted for the opportunity to choose her own path and will not be denied democracy.
