ROLLING OUT SCOTLAND’S SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM

I and Kenneth Gibson MSP met with Social Security Scotland (SSS) to discuss the progress of the roll out of new powers over social security in Scotland.

Unlike the UK Government’s Department for Work and Pensions - DWP, Scotland’s system will have compassion and dignity at its heart.

Twelve Scottish National Party (SNP) The Scottish Government benefits are delivered by SSS, such as the Scottish Child Payment - in the rest of the UK there is no equivalent. This was increased by 150% from £10 in April 2022 to £25 per week for each eligible child under 16 as part of the SNP’s commitment to tackling the scourge of child poverty.
