I STAND WITH ROYAL MAIL WORKERS

Yesterday I was proud to join The Communication Workers Union CWU Scotland postal workers at Royal Mail on the picket line in Saltcoats, Ayrshire, as they fight to protect their pay and conditions being eroded, which are threatened with ‘uberisation’.

They do not want to strike and they and their families are facing hardship as a consequence, but they are justifiably determined to protect their employment rights for the future of this essential service.

I stand in solidarity with them.

It was also lovely to meet cute little Ziggy, the mascot for this branch of local posties.
