HOSPICES CONCERN OVER SOARING ENERGY COSTS

Hospices across the UK are deeply concerned about the impact of soaring energy costs.

Across Ayrshire and beyond, we all understand and appreciate the work of hospices such as Ayrshire Hospice.

Around 300,000 people every year benefit from the essential end-of-life care provided by hospices, but the support provided via the new Energy Bills Discount Scheme will not be sufficient to protect hospices from soaring costs across the board, and their very survival as a service could be in jeopardy.

I called on the UK Government to review its energy support for the hospice sector across the UK , but the response was deeply disappointing given that energy support is reserved entirely to Westminster………👇.
