FUEL POVERTY SET TO SOAR THIS WINTER AS UK GOVERNMENT HELP FALLS SHORT

The new Prime Minister’s long awaited announcement on what the UK Government is going to do to support people struggling with soaring energy costs fell far short of what is needed. People across North Ayrshire and Arran will be bitterly disappointed to find that Liz Truss’s idea of support will see their bills rise, and will leave many more households grappling with out of control bills.

Already, 6.7m households are in fuel poverty with the price cap currently at £1,971 capping the cost of domestic energy bills for the average household at £2,500 does nothing to help them and will only serve to push more people into this situation.
