PUBLIC INQUIRY NEEDED INTO FOOTBALL INDEX SCANDAL

I raised the scandal of betting firm Football Index in the Commons earlier today with the Leader of the House, after this firm was placed in administration and its licenses suspended by the Gambling Commission.

Football Index has been likened to a pyramid scheme, with customer losses standing at £90 million. This scandal has called into question how fit for purpose the Gabling Commission is, given it licensed Football Index’s platform. Customers who have lost significant sums of money need answers which is why a public inquiry is needed to ensure consumer protection in the future.
