DEMENTIA AWARENESS WEEK SCOTLAND - 31 MAY - 6TH JUNE

This week is Dementia Awareness Week.

The theme for this year is 'Hidden voices, Hidden impact, Hidden cost' and is an opportunity to reflect on the devastating impact, and true experience, of coronavirus on the dementia community.

Current estimates are that around 90,000 people are currently living with dementia. Around two-thirds are living at home at any one time, with the remainder in acute or residential care. The latter accounts for at least 66% of the care home population in Scotland and growing.

Alzheimer Scotland works hard to ensure that nobody faces dementia alone, providing support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families, campaigning for the rights of people with dementia as well as funding vital dementia research.

You can call Alzheimer Scotland’s 24 hour Freephone Dementia Helpline: 0808 808 3000 and/or find more information at https://www.alzscot.org/DAW2021
