CONTINUING CALLS TO BAN IMPORT OF REAL FUR INTO UK WITH BRIAN MAY
I was delighted to attend the Humane Society International event in Westminster, to support the continued calls to ban the import of real fur into the UK.
Every single year, over 100 million animals are killed worldwide for their fur.
Whilst fur farming has been banned in the UK almost 20 years ago on the grounds that it was unethical, continuing to import fur products merely outsources our own animal cruelty to other nations we import millions of pounds worth of fur products from abroad each year. This is unacceptable and hypocritical.
If fur products are too cruel to produce in the U.K., then it should also be too cruel to sell such products here too.
73%of the public across the U.K. supports a ban in fur imports and sales.
It is time to end this double standard and stop the trade in cruel and deadly fur.
It was good to also once again meet Queen’s Brian May at this event, a long-standing passionate animal rights campaigner.
