CERVICAL CANCER PREVENTION WEEK - JANUARY 17th - 23rd

This week is Cervical Cancer Prevention Week, a valuable reminder of the importance of cervical screening, as well as an opportunity to share information and support about what comes after cervical screening: the results.

Ø Cervical screening saves lives, and can prevent cervical cancer, but 1 in 3 women do not attend their appointment when invited.

Ø 220,000 women are told they have cervical cell changes every year, and many more receive a diagnosis of HPV, but those receiving this news are often confused, ashamed, and scared.

Ø Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust has launched their latest report: Cervical cancer prevention doesn’t end at cervical screening: Patient experiences of cell changes which can be found here https://www.jostrust.org.uk/.../cell-changes-experiences

High numbers diagnosed with cervical cell changes don’t have the information they need to deal with a diagnosis. Sadly many feel ashamed and isolated. Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust is there to offer support and further information.
