CENTENARY CELEBRATION OF SALTCOATS, ARDROSSAN & STEVENSTON’S ROYAL BRITISH LEGION

This weekend I attended a moving and celebratory service to mark 100 years of Royal British Legion Scotland Saltcoats, Ardrossan and Stevenston Branch and was delighted to pay my own personal tribute.

The day began with a parade through Saltcoats town centre, past the war memorial to St. Mary's Church Saltcoats where a non-denominational service was held.

Later that evening the celebrations continued in Ardrossan with a social evening in Ardrossan Civic Centre, where this branch of the Royal British Legion had its first meeting one hundred years ago.

The evening’s entertainment included the West Of Scotland Military Wives Choir who came from HM Naval Base in Faslane to participate in the celebrations.
