BUREAUCRATIC AND LENGTHY UK VISA PROCESSES MUST BE WAIVED FOR UKRAINIAN REFUGEES

Yesterday the Home Secretary made a Statement regarding Ukrainian refugees’ entry into the UK.

However, it was short on detail and there was no real clarity about how the visa application process would be expedited for those fleeing from the Russian invaders

I have constituents who have relatives in Ukraine and are keen to be reunited with them in the UK, some of whom are frail and elderly. With no flights between the UK and Ukraine, they will need to travel to the UK via a third country without being mired in bureaucratic delays. They also need assurances that their stay can be permanent, so that they can rebuild their lives safely in the UK, if that is what they choose.
