BLACK AND ASIAN WAR DEAD MUST BE PROPERLY COMMEMORATED

It is a cause of deep shame and regret that black and Asian service personnel who fought and died for the UK, have not been honoured in the same way as white soldiers, with many buried in unmarked mass graves.

I asked the Secretary of State for Defence to confirm that all the necessary support will be provided to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission to ensure that work to correct this historical injustice proceeds with the utmost urgency, so that all of our war dead can finally be given the respect they deserve.
