ARDROSSAN RUGBY CLUB SWITCHES ON NEW FLOODLIGHTS

I was delighted to attend the official switch on of the new Ardrossan Accies RFC floodlights on Memorial Field, in this the club’s centenary year. These fantastic new energy efficient lights are a hugely important improvement for the club and its users.

The installation of these lights was made possible by sponsorship from James Frew - whose mascot ‘Flamish’ is pictured below - and a substantial grant from SUEZ Communities Trust through the Scottish Landfill Communities Fund following a successful grant application which was strongly supported by myself and Kenneth Gibson MSP.

This club, which is open to all is working to promote rugby and fitness through sport across North Ayrshire communities.

It was also really interesting to learn more about the big plans for the club from Ali Cairns, Club President Dougie Tyler and team.
