ANXIETY AND CONFUSION SURROUNDS UK GOVERNMENT’S EU SETTLEMENT SCHEME

With the deadline for applications to the EU Settlement Scheme closing on 30 June 2021, just three weeks away, there remains widespread concerns about the protection of the rights of EU citizens living in the UK.

Tens of thousands of EU nationals may be unaware of any issues with their lack of settled or pre settled status until it is flagged up by their landlord, employer or other agency. I asked the Home Office Minister if he agreed that there should be an obligation for organisations to signpost individuals to independent support services if they may be eligible to apply for the Settlement Scheme.

EU citizens living in the U.K. - many of whom work in our NHS - deserve to have their futures here secured.
