ALBA TYRE MANAGEMENT - KILBIRNIE

Recently, I visited Alba Tyre Management LTD in Kilbirnie with Kenneth Gibson MSP.

This independent tyre retreading business specialises in reconditioning high quality large vehicles tyres and is the largest in the UK.

Recycling tyres is hugely important in our environmental efforts to cut waste. In addition, extending the life of tyres means that they can be used as raw material for other forms of “deferred disposal” subsequently.

This local business employs 22 local people and delivers retreading to 15 local authorities across Scotland, run by father and son Alex and David Wilson, who kindly showed us around their plant and we were able to learn more about the work they do.
