A REVERSE ROBIN HOOD BUDGET FOR THE RICHEST
Friday’s “mini budget” from the Tories sees the additional rate of income tax for those earning over £150,000 and above scrapped from April, meaning that those earning £50,000 a year will now be taxed at the same rate as those earning a million pounds a year.
The Chancellor's announcement, amidst a cost-of-living crisis for so many, shamefully represents a £42,500 tax saving every year for those earning millions of pounds a year.
Britain is already the most unequal country in Europe in terms of disposable income. These new measures will widen this gap further.
This is a budget for the richest in society which will protect bankers and multinational corporate executives.
Those struggling through these difficult times have been left out in the cold by this Tory Government. Scotland needs and deserves better than this!
