UK GOVERNMENT MUST GUARANTEE SUFFICIENT MENTAL HEALTH FUNDING

I sought assurances from the Secretary of State for Health that additional funding will be available for mental health services, that are likely to be under significant pressure as we come out of lockdown.

There is a strong link between poverty and poor mental health, and the Covid-19 pandemic is causing an unprecedented strain on the economy, costing jobs and placing livelihoods at risk. We must make sure that support for mental health services are properly resourced so they can deal with the increased demand they are likely to face in light of this.
