URGENT INTERNATIONAL CONDEMNATION & DIPLOMATIC ACTION AGAINST CHINESE GOVERNMENT NEEDED

Following reports that the Chinese Government is using a range of disturbing methods to minimise the birth rates of Uyghur people in Xinjiang, I again called on the UK Government to condemn China’s human rights record. I have previously spoken in a debate about enforced organ transplants of Uyghur people in China, and now reports have estimated there has been a sterilisation of 34% of all married women of child-bearing age in the Uyghur majority city of Hotan.

Despite the Minister’s response, it is only a few years since the Chinese leader, Xi Jinping, was unfortunately afforded a full state visit to the UK. China’s human rights record is barbaric and primitive and the UK Government must treat the Chinese Government accordingly. The UK is the fourth biggest importer of Chinese goods so that gives the UK Government some economic clout over China. It is time to use it and every other means at the disposal of the international community.
