In these unprecedented times, it is vital that the UK Government takes unprecedented action to support jobs.
I took the opportunity to highlight the job loses hitting the aviation sector and other industries, and the damaging impact of rolling back the furlough support prematurely, which has led the tens of thousands of redundancies being announced with more to surely follow.
I also repeated my calls - first made in April - for the Government to convert COVID-19 business loans to our struggling businesses into grants. Lockdown may be easing, and people may be getting back to work, but many businesses will take a long time to recover from this setback, and they need ongoing support to do it.
And where is Scotland’s fair share of U.K. Government support?
