Today is a very special day - the 100th birthday of Largs resident, celebrated war veteran and published author, Jack Ransom.
His has been a life lived to the full, a local character and national hero, surviving great trials in the Second World War.
In recognition of his impressive life to date, I lodged an Early Day Motion in the UK House of Commons which is published below.
It is a great shame that so many of us who were looking forward to sharing in Jack's celebrations today cannot do so due to the health pandemic. However, I am sure we all look forward to his belated celebrations when lockdown is over. In the meantime, I know we all want to send Jack our very best wishes for a wonderful day.
Below I and Kenneth Gibson MSP are pictured with Jack at last year's Largs Viking Festival.
