Following the UK Government’s announcement of new powers for OFCOM to work to better regulate social media, I highlighted the important work undertaken to mark Safe Internet Day 2020.

Safe Internet Day is an event organised by the UK Safer Internet Centre, who work with more than 1000 schools, children’s groups and businesses to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people on the internet.

It is important that governments support those working to make the internet a safer place for children, young people and wider society and I called on the UK Government to recognise and applaud these endeavours.
