PENSION JUSTICE FOR 1950s WOMEN
Since I was first elected I have worked with women born in the 1950s who had their pension age raised by the UK Government with little or no notice and leaving them tens of thousands of pounds out of pocket and pushing the women affected into cruel and unnecessary hardship.
I will continue to work with WASPI - Women Against State Pension Inequality Campaign, if I am re-elected.
The women affected are a generation who have already endured unequal pay throughout their working lives relative to their male counterparts in the workplace. To reach the end of your working life and find your pension is not being paid out as agreed is yet another injustice perpetrated on these women.
Their pensions have been stolen and this must be addressed. My pledge is to continue to stand alongside these women until justice is done. Ayrshire WASPI Group, Cunninghame WASPI 🐝
