GARNOCK VALLEY CARVES 2019

Amidst the ongoing Brexit chaos, I thoroughly enjoyed attending the fantastic Garnock Valley Carves 2019 in Beith.

It was a real treat to see such fantastic talent on display from carvers from afar afield as Canada and Spain participating.

I had the very difficult task of judging the top three best carved creations since every single creation was just fabulous.

The winner of the best carved creation however, went to Pete Bowsher from Canada who carved the fantastic eagle.

His son, Sam, was also placed third for his wonderful Gnomio and Hooliet bench and also is pictured below with a his lovely carving of a fox.

Second place was secured by Damon Gorecki for his lovely Angel Bench.

The weather for this event was gloriously sunny and so many people flocked to watch these master crafters in action.

Thanks must go to the indomitable Norrie Brown for all his very hard work over many months to ensure this event was a success, alongside his lovely wife, Rose Brown.

This even is really putting Beith on the map, and quite rightly so.

Thanks also to Cafe Solace Kilbirnie for serving refreshments throughout the day.

We are already looking forward to next year's event!
