SPEAKER UNDERSTANDS FRUSTRATION OF SCOTS IGNORED IN BREXIT CHAOS

Late in Monday night’s proceedings I raised a point of order with the Speaker. My concern is that with parliament prorogued at this critical time, there is no outlet for the people of Scotland or their elected representatives to express their concern and alarm at Scotland – which did not vote for Brexit and will suffer hugely if there is a No-Deal Brexit - how Scotland can properly express its dissatisfaction with the actions of the UK Government which has manipulated the parliamentary process in its pursuit of a dangerous cliff-edge No-Deal. The best way for Scotland to protect her own interests and ensure that people in Scotland get what they vote for is for Scotland to decide her own constitutional path. The response from the Speaker suggests he understands the anger and frustration in Scotland at being ignored throughout this entire Brexit fiasco.
