40TH LARGS VIKING FESTIVAL

I had a great time today with Kenneth Gibson MSP at the Largs Viking Festival today.

The weather was not as fine as in previous years but the rain stayed away and once again local residents turned out in force to watch and support the parade.

This festival is an excellent showcase for the lovely town of Largs and the Committee must be congratulated for all their hard work over many months, on putting this excellent event together.

As always, the costumes looked really authentic and it was good to catch up with Anne Carson, Chair of Largs Community Council, Largs Community Resilience Team and decorated war veteran, Jack Ransom, The Scottish Cockney, who is 99 years young.

Also in attendance was Lady Hunterston to support this event.
