While the UK Government sits paralysed by Brexit and a Tory Party leadership campaign, the fight for justice for the WASPI women across the UK goes on. The women born in the 1950s have had their state pension age raised with little or no notice, and the UK Government has refused to engage with them.
Today I asked the Government to take the opportunity of a soon-to-be new Prime Minister to finally put in place transitional payments for those affected by these changes to the state pension age. Many of these women have been thrown into poverty and hardship through no fault of their own. It is high time the UK Government started listening to these women who only want what is rightfully theirs.
