LIZANNE ZIETSMAN – PMQs

With the Home Office refusing to see sense in the case of Lizanne Zietsman, I raised the issue at Prime Minister’s Questions today. I called on Theresa May to intervene and instruct the Immigration Minister to meet with me to discuss the decision to deny the Arran business woman leave to remain in the UK, despite a 16,000+ signature petition and the understandable anger and dismay of the Arran community.

Lizanne and her husband are held in high regard on Arran, an island that is working hard to attract and keep working-age people who are actively contributing to the island’s economy. This case demonstrates that the UK Government’s migration policies are far too inflexible to accommodate the unique needs of our rural and island communities.
