This week I contributed to a debate on Universal Credit, highlighting some of the many problems that persist despite the numerous times these issues have been raised with the Government.

I highlighted the issue of digital exclusion, a major problem with Universal Credit as many disadvantaged people do not have access to a computer or internet, and even if they do, the system can be very difficult to navigate.

I also reiterated calls from many individuals and organisations by urging the Minister to pause Universal Credit so that its issues can be rectified. I was disappointed that he committed to ploughing on regardless of the many difficulties with the system.
