ARDEER BOWLING CLUB

It was a pleasure to join Mark Pickering and Jim Conn at Ardeer Bowling Club in Stevenston to welcome the arrival of the club’s new defibrillator. Funds were raised by generous club members for this defibrillator after the club’s greenkeeper was saved after quick action by fellow bowlers when he had a heart attack. Whilst CPR was carried out on the greenkeeper by Hugh McGoogan, club visitor, Andy Wardrope, rushed to Ardeer Community Centre to fetch its defibrillator, thereby saving the greenkeeper’s life. The club now hopes that other public facilities will install their own defibrillators in order to potentially save lives.
