TORIES HAVE NO ANSWER ON PROTECTING ESSENTIAL MEDICAL SUPPLIES POST BREXIT

In Parliament this week I asked what plans the UK Government has put in place to deal with the very serious concerns about potential disruption to essential medical supplies post Brexit. There are now fewer than 50 days until exit date, and steps should have been taken well before now to ensure that pharmaceutical companies are adequately prepared.

Regrettably, the Leader of the House was unable to offer any reassurance, and suggested that I instead that I take the matter up with the Secretary of State for Health. The Tories have kicked the can down the road at every opportunity on Brexit, with no thought for the consequences for those affected. This is just not good enough, and they should be ashamed.

I will pursue this matter to ensure my constituents who rely on essential medicines and supplies, are not short-changed.
