REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 2018

Today we will reflect on those servicemen and women who made great sacrifices and too often paid with their lives serving our country. This year, as we commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War, it is particularly poignant and we unite to pay tribute to the fallen, their families and loved ones. The deaths of so many young men brought communities together in grief. Everyone knew someone who had died. Remembrance Sunday and the red poppies symbolise not just the great sacrifices made during World War One, but the sacrifices made in all wars. Poppies are also a stark reminder that those who put themselves in harm's way to protect us deserve our thanks, our respect and to be honoured and remembered.
