SUICIDE AWARENESS

I was very please to support a Suicide Awareness campaign alongside Miss Scotland, Linzi McLelland, in Westminster. Of the 728 people who killed themselves in Scotland in 2016, 75% of them were men. Suicide is currently the leading cause of death in men under the age of 50 across the UK. It is time to remove the stigma of mental health challenges and send a clear signal that it is good to talk. Sometimes we all need breathing space. If you’re feeling low, please pick up the phone. You will not be judged. People can help you see there is another option. If you want to talk, please get in touch via: Samaritans (open 24/7) – 08457 90 90 90 https://www.samaritans.org/ Breathing Space (open 6pm-6am, Fri – Mon) – 0800 83 56 87 http://breathingspace.scot/ SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) (open 9-5pm, Mon – Thu) - 0141 530 1000 https://www.samh.org.uk/ https://www.samaritans.org/sites/default/files/styles/page_overview/public/page/its_ok_to_talk_test_0.png?itok=_S7Rg7Bu
