PRIME MINISTER LOST FOR WORDS DURING EU STATEMENT

As the Prime Minister gave an update on the UK’s withdrawal from the EU yesterday, I asked her about whether she had any concerns about the legitimacy of the EU Referendum result, given that the Electoral Commission has ruled that the Leave campaign broke electoral law, with regards to spending limits. And if she does not, I wondered if she could explain what the point of electoral law is.

Sadly, Mrs May floundered and was simply unable to answer this question, even going as far as to suggest these were ongoing legal matters upon which she could not comment. They are not – the Electoral Commission has made its ruling. So what is the point of electoral law if a result based on cheating is allowed to stand?
