UNIVERSAL CREDIT

I took the opportunity this morning to press the UK Government on their disastrous roll-out of Universal Credit, which is causing hardship and unnecessary suffering to vulnerable people of North Ayrshire and Arran when they seek to access essential support.

I invited Minister for Employment, Alok Sharma, to visit North Ayrshire himself, and speak to my constituents whose lives are being thrown into turmoil by the chaos and unneccesary hardship caused by Universal Credit. Regrettably, he seemed reluctant to do so.
