OFFICIAL OPENING OF NEW WHITLEES COMMUNITY CENTRE COMMUNITY CAFE IN ARDROSSAN

It was a pleasure to attend the official launch of the new refurbished Community Cafe in Ardrossan Whitlees Community Centre.

Also in attendance for the big launch was the Gala Court for 2018.

Huge congratulations to the Committee who have worked so hard to make this happen over a number of years and secured funding from the Big Lottery Fund and Our Place.

The allocation of £326,000 helped to ensure the refurbishment and the employment of five staff members, as well as a college trainee in the Centre for the next three years.

Chairperson of the Centre, Julia Gray, also paid tribute to the other members of the Committee and the local community in Ardrossan for its support.

The new cafe has been in operation since April and has been very busy and has also received bookings for weddings and parties.

The cafe is open six days a week, serving breakfast and lunch as well as daily specials. It is also host to the Whitlees Over 50s Lunch Club on Friday’s from 12-2 with a cost of just £4.
